iRace to drive indoor racing and flying

Oman’s newest and most exciting shopping destination — Muscat Grand Mall — has announced it is introducing the world’s first indoor radio controlled car racing and flying experience as part of its commitment to deliver new experiences to shoppers.
iRace, a virtual driving, racing and flying simulation destination is being introduced at the Mall and will be located directly above the food court in the heart of Muscat Grand Mall — a revolutionary new concept at the Mall along with many well-known retail brands, a cinema, children’s entertainment and broad ranging of dining opportunities.
iRace, iFly, iDrift and iJump activities are designed to give participants a fun, exciting and thrilling experience. iRace will also have retail outlet close to the track in the Mall. The new iRace venue will not only provide space for public cars to race (on-road, off-road and drift cars), but also have a regular championship set-up for existing and new enthusiasts to indulge in this high-speed hobby and earn points or modify their vehicles and compete against family and friends besides the Quadra copters challenge.
Dan Rowlands, of iRace said: “The radio controlled cars which will be used in the games are detailed scale versions of their full size counterparts. Everything can be adjusted, suspension geometry, gearing, brakes, aerodynamics... you name it. You can adjust almost anything for that extra performance advantage on the track. This means more than just excitement, it is also educational, teaching the highly important aspects of road safety and the technicalities of car mechanics. Now you can speed along at iRace and still keep the roads of Muscat safe.”
